WHY WSS HR LABS?
Since 2013, the Work Shouldn't Suck team has been actively and deeply exploring, developing, and iterating on values-based approaches to reimagine "traditional" HR in ways that center and create truly diverse, inclusive, equitable, and anti-racist workplaces. We hold these values both personally and professionally, and they are embedded in all of our work.
Testimonials
"Katrina and Tim distinguished themselves beyond all expectations. Their unwavering commitment to centering anti-racism, their kindness and care and their patience with us as we navigated a new process and workflow were exemplary. Not only did they help us find an extraordinary candidate but they also helped define new recruiting methods for Opera Philadelphia.”
— David Devan, General Director & President, Opera Philadelphia
“I recently took part in Work Shouldn't Suck's Inclusive Hiring training that acknowledged how systemic racism is embedded in many organizational practices including HR structures. I was provided valuable insight on how to center equity and inclusion in job descriptions and position postings, how to align organizational values in recruitment, and leading from a place of care to address harmful barriers that exist in hiring processes. Equally and maybe more important, are the amazing trainers: Katrina and Tim. They were engaging, constructive, and promoted a safe and supportive environment that allowed me the space to discuss and share my thoughts freely. All of the participants flourished in the interactive nature of the training, which allowed for active participation and collaboration. The training was not only informative but also enjoyable, and I left feeling inspired and motivated to implement what I learned.”
— Daljeet Meet, MA, Human Resources Specialist, University of British Columbia
"From the initial conversation to every step of the process, working with Tim and Katrina at WSS felt personal yet expansive. The generative nature of their approach and care throughout our work together helped us [NCCAkron] address HR needs of today and anticipate those of the organization we aim to become in the future."
— Christy Bolingbroke, Executive/Artistic Director, NCCAkron
