Instructors

Courtney Harge (she/her) and Nicola Carpenter (she/her) have a long history of working in partnership towards creating anti-racist, anti-oppressive workplaces. For many years, they were instrumental in this work at Fractured Atlas, where they helped build the organization’s caucus process and also served as liaisons for the People of Color and White caucuses. Additionally, they were key members of the organization's Anti-Racism Anti-Oppression committee and guided its creation. Over the years, the committee's work helped plan and guide curriculum development, staff trainings, and a deep exploration of how racism, oppression, and White Supremacy Culture was built into the very DNA of the organization. Their commitment to, and understanding of, this work in the workplace has led to them presenting countless workshops and conversations with colleagues across the U.S. and Canada.

In March 2021, Courtney was appointed the CEO of OF/BY/FOR ALL, an organization helping provide a network of change-making organizations with the structure, tools, coaching, and community to accelerate their goal toward becoming more equitable and inclusive. Nicola currently serves as the Director of People Operations at Fractured Atlas. In addition to her deep exploration and work into how high-performing virtual organizations can make meaningful connections, she is also trying to make the online knitting community less racist.
